Man Who Died and ‘Visited Heaven’ Shares Three Important Lessons He Learned

A man claims to have experienced ‘heaven’ while in a coma after taking supplements. On January 18, 2003, Vincent Tolman lost consciousness after consuming questionable supplements he and a friend bought online. During this time, Tolman described entering a strange state where he could observe himself lying on the ground.

He recalled seeing his own body from above and even watching paramedics attend to him. Reflecting on the incident, he said, “My friend and I had taken a questionable supplement from the internet, and as soon as we ingested it, we knew something was off.”

Initially, the pair tried to eat something in hopes of feeling better, but their condition worsened.

“I collapsed, and the next moment, I was looking down at myself from above. The world seemed limitless as I calmly watched paramedics enter the bathroom and work over my body,” Tolman recounted.

Things took a turn for the worse when he saw himself being placed into a body bag.

“I watched as emergency services tried to revive me, but then they stopped and gave up,” he said. “They zipped me into a bright yellow body bag and took me into the ambulance.”

Fortunately, someone noticed he wasn’t actually dead and was able to revive him. After being rushed to the hospital and placed on life support, he embarked on what he describes as a spiritual journey that led to profound insights about life.

Tolman shared, “One of the biggest things I learned is that we’ve got it all wrong here. We’ve allowed traditions to persuade us that life is a trial. But it’s not about passing or failing; it’s about learning and growing.”

Among the three lessons he learned, the first was ‘authenticity’—being genuine and truthful with oneself. The second lesson was the understanding that life is not a pass/fail test but rather a journey of learning and personal growth.

The third and final lesson emphasized the importance of learning to ‘embody love’ for oneself, others, and the world as a whole.
