Mother of Girl Who Disappeared 30 Years Ago Shares Heartbreaking Update After Recent Discovery

The mother of a girl abd*cted nearly 30 years ago has spoken out after the main suspect in her daughter’s disappearance was identified. On June 9, 1995, six-year-old Morgan Nick was kidnapped from a parking lot after attending a little league game in Alma, Arkansas. Despite law enforcement spending “thousands of hours investigating more than 10,000 leads” with only a suspect description to guide them, a significant breakthrough has been made nearly three decades later.

Initial Suspect

At the time of Morgan’s abduction, police described the suspect as a white man, around 6 feet tall, with a medium to solid build, a mustache, and a 1-inch beard. Witnesses reported seeing him driving “a red truck with a white camper shell,” according to the Morgan Nick Foundation.

One of the early persons of interest was Billy Jack Lincks from Van Buren, Arkansas, who was arrested on August 29, 1995, for sexual solicitation of a child. Lincks, who also owned a red truck, denied any involvement when questioned about Morgan’s disappearance and was not pursued further by investigators at the time.

The Breakthrough

The investigation persisted for years with no significant leads until October 1, when the Alma Police Department announced a renewed focus on Lincks as the main suspect. In July 2019, detectives began reviewing the initial investigation and returned to Lincks as a key figure. Though Lincks had been convicted of s*xually abusing a young girl in 1992, it was hair evidence from his truck that reignited interest in his possible connection to Morgan’s case.

In 2023, advanced testing conducted at Othram Laboratory in Texas indicated that the hair likely belonged to Morgan Nick or a close relative. The Nick family confirmed they had no known connection to Lincks or his truck. A statement from the Alma Police Department emphasized, “Physical evidence collected from the truck that Lincks owned when Morgan was abd*cted strongly indicates that Morgan had been in his truck.”

Despite this crucial discovery, Lincks passed away in 2000, leaving Morgan’s mother, Colleen Nick, grappling with a difficult truth.

Speaking to Mail Online, she acknowledged, “There’s probably a one percent chance she’s still alive — but really, I don’t think there is.” She added, “Now I just want to know where Morgan is.”

Colleen expressed gratitude for the “army of supporters, advocates, and heroes” who have fought to uncover the truth behind Morgan’s disappearance, stating that while a man “stole Morgan” from her family, his actions did not break their spirit.

“Our love for Morgan — her memory, her voice — outlasted his life. And that love continues to shine. Morgan’s heart shines on,” Colleen said.
