In Anambra State’s Omasi village, Ayamelum Local Government Area, a 17-year-old girl was allegedly m*rdered by suspected r!tualists.
SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the police command’s spokesperson, confirmed the incident on Monday, October 7, 2024. He reported that the girl’s l!feless body was discovered in a bush, with her private p*rts removed.
“The Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, has ordered an immediate investigation into the horr!fic murder of the 17-year-old girl, believed to be a victim of a r!tualistic k!lling,” the statement announced.
The girl, identified as Chinasa Adigwe from Umueje village, was found at 4:25 PM on October 6, 2024, in Omasi village. Her body, with pr!vate parts missing, prompted the police response.
The body has been recovered and taken to a morgue.
The Commissioner of Police extended condolences to the family, friends, and community of the deceased, assuring that all efforts will be made to apprehend those responsible and deliver justice. Updates will follow as the investigation progresses.
