FG Declares Tuesday, October 1, a Public Holiday to Celebrate 64th Independence Anniversary

The Federal Government has declared Tuesday, October 1, a public holiday to commemorate the nation’s 64th Independence Anniversary.

In a statement released on Saturday, September 28, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Interior, announced that the declaration was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the Federal Government.

The minister extended congratulations to Nigerians both at home and abroad on this significant occasion. Dr. Tunji-Ojo commended the resilience and dedication of Nigerian men and women, affirming that their sacrifices will not be in vain.

“Aligning with the theme for the Anniversary, the Minister emphasized the importance of reflecting on the contributions of our heroes past and drawing inspiration for the challenges ahead, recognizing that a united Nigeria is essential for realizing our national aspirations.

While wishing Nigerians a Happy Independence Day Anniversary, Dr. Tunji-Ojo urged citizens to remain committed to nation-building,” the statement noted.
