“Everything is Available There: BlessingCEO Shares Her Prison Experience, Living Like an ‘Ajebutter’

Famous self-proclaimed relationship expert Blessing Okoro, widely known as Blessing CEO, has shared her prison experience.

Recall that Blessing was incarcerated in March 2023 for alleged cyberbullying related to her involvement in the case of Lagos celebrity auto dealer Ikechukwu Ogbonna, popularly known as IVD, and his late wife, Bimbo Ogbonna. She regained her freedom in April 2023.

In a recent interview with DaddyFreeze, Blessing opened up about her time in prison. She described her first day as traumatic, recalling how her phone, wig, and personal items were confiscated upon her arrival. She was subjected to a thorough search by the wardens and was placed in a room infested with bed bugs, where she spent her first night with two other young women.

By the second day, she was moved to her cell, where she met other inmates. She compared life in prison to a boarding house, noting that one could make it as comfortable as desired. She explained that inmates have access to general food and can purchase delicious, albeit pricey, meals from restaurants within the prison. Additionally, she mentioned that the facility had a phone booth for inmates to contact their loved ones.

Regarding how she managed to upload a photo while still in custody, Blessing explained:

“You have a phone booth, but phones are not allowed. Phones are considered contraband. Some people always find ways to sneak them in. That’s the reality. In our corrupt country, there are always ways around it. Officially, phones are not allowed.

After two days in prison, I needed to transfer money to someone, so I asked one of the wardens for my phone. She let me use it to complete the transfer. Being my usual busy self, after finishing, I posted a photo on Instagram. Suddenly, everyone was in an uproar, claiming, ‘Blessing wasn’t in prison because she posted!’ I didn’t even realize I was trending online; I just wanted to share that ‘One man mopol, no shaking.’

At 1 AM, about seven wardens came to our cell, searching for ‘contraband.’ They thought I had a phone, not realizing I had just posted and returned the device. So they came to search me, thinking I was hiding something.”
