The feeling of falling has its thrills but it’s not for everyone. Roller coasters might be fun, but they are very scary and not everybody has the stomach for it. After riding a rollercoaster, you are most certainly going to feel pains and aches in different places that you just can’t explain but funny enough, you’ll feel like going for another ride. In this post, we are going to be showing you some of the scariest roller coasters in the world that you should try on your next trip abroad.
7) Maverick, Cedar Point, Ohio Maverick, USA
This roller coaster is very powerful and offers riders the thrill of their lives. It moves like it could fall off the tracks but it’s safe to ride. At the start of the ride, the train is magnetically pulled up a 105 feet hill at a certain speed.
After this, the train drops 100 feet swooping around and climbing hills. The train launched at a speed of 70mph to swoop over a lagoon before going back to the station.
6) Iron Gwazi, Busch Gardens, Tampa, USA
This roller coaster stands at a height of 206 feet, with scary wooden structures, steel support columns and many scary crossovers. This train leaves it’s station taking turns before going up the hill. Ascending up the hill isn’t too fast to allow the riders enjoy the great view, but the real action begins when the train goes down the hill. It’s so scary, feels like you are going to fall off your seat.
This train moves at 76mph, taking different twist and turns that will thrill it’s riders to maximise their satisfaction.
5) Wildfire, Kolmarden, Sweden
This roller coaster stands 187 feet above the ground and it’s made of wood. It’s located within Kolmårdens Djurpark but hidden from the roadside because of many trees that surround the park.
This train climbs slowly up a hill after dispatch, probably the only time you’ll have to enjoy your view. After making a 270- degree right turn, this train falls from a height of 160 feet before taking many twists and turns at great speed. It climbs up hills and goes on many twists and turns.
4) Thunder Dolphin, Tokyo Dome City, Japan
This beautiful roller coaster can be found in the middle of city of Tokyo, Japan. The strange part is that you’ll see people going about their daily activities while you have the fun of your life.
The ride starts by taking you up a 262 feet hill and then from there, riders will experience a 21-foot drop as the train drops at a speed of 81mph. This gives its riders a free-falling feeling.
The train then climbs and turns before flying past the side of a mall. It slows that a little before plunging towards a huge hole in the wall. Before you have the chance to regain yourself, the train starts climbing into the sky and then descends at great speed. It takes some more twists and turns before it finally comes to a stop.
3) Time Traveler, Silver Dollar City, Branson, Missouri, USA
Imagine getting dropped vertically at 90 feet just after your ride begins. The scariest part is that there’s no certainty of the direction you’ll face when the drop happens. It could be sideways, backwards, or forward. This roller coaster isn’t called The Time Traveller Coaster for nothing. This roller coaster cars were mounted in a way that they are allowed to rotate freely which gives its riders more than what they bargained for.
It’s terrifying, you’ll feel like you want to get of the ride as soon as the ride begins but it’s too late, you have to be there until the end of the ride. Just like its name, the Time Traveller Roller Coaster wants to give its riders the feeling of time travel. You’ll go through three inversions during the ride in less than two minutes, moving at a speed of 50mph.
2) Incredible Hulk Coaster, IOA, Universal Orlando, USA
You’ll see the Incredible Hulk statue holding up a car ride at the beginning of the ride. Then you’ll move into a lab where you’ll become Thaddeus Ross’s test subject. The room looks cool with gamma reactors all over.
Then you’ll be launched into a tunnel with cool effects. As you ascend the hill, you’ll hear a warning message which says that gamma exposure has been initiated, this feeling will get your adrenaline pumping so hard. After leaving the gamma ray reactor, you’ll climb up a 110 foot hill and then go through drops hearing the Hulk roar which gives you a satisfying feeling.
1) Nemesis, Alton Towers Resort, England
Let me tell you a story; There was a time when a creature known as Nemesis came from another Dimension into the Earth Realm and lived underground away from the light. Nemesis fell into a very long sleep but humans decided to dig into the valley of Nemesis.
Nemesis wasn’t happy about this, an unimaginable terror was unleashed on humans, this is the theme behind this roller coaster. It’s fun, you’ll have to see a scary looking eyeball staring at you during the ride.
This roller coaster is built differently, instead of reaching for the skies, it goes down into the ground from where Nemesis came. During your ride, you’ll hear roars as you cruise at the speed of 50mph.
You’ll find yourself plunging into pit, near misses from a monster that wants to get you, amongst many other things. Before you can recollect whats happening, the ride comes to a halt.
