The Nigerian music industry has been blessed with so many talents over the years. Every year, there has been singers who thrilled us with hit songs but only a few could keep up with the hype.

Unfortunately, some others where not able to give us more hits and eventually, everyone forgot about them. In this post, I am going to be telling you about 10 Nigerian musicians who gave us hits but couldn’t give us more hits, so we moved on. This post is dedicated to them, they did well during their prime. Check them out below;

10; Alabai – Oganje

After dropping the song “Voice of God” which was quite a hit, his major hit was “Oganje”. Alabai who was born in 1982, moved from gospel to circular music. The rapper emphasized that he wasn’t a gospel artist. Unfortunately, Alabai fell off after dropping his “Oganje” track. Not much has been heard of the rapper afterwards. Music-wise, we can say that most fans can barely remember him today.

Many years ago, a singer came out of nowhere with a banger in which he praised his home state “Akwa Ibom”. After dropping the song “Akwa Ibom”, it became an instant hit, an anthem was played in most public gatherings.

Mish got so much recognition during this period but he couldn’t keep up with the hype. He released some more songs but none ever became a hit. Last time I heard about Mish, I heard that he’s relocated out of Nigeria abroad.

8. Bigiano – Shayo

Bigiano was looking like the next big thing after dropping his smash hit “Shayo”. But he left the music industry for a while and when he was ready to come back, there was no place for him anymore.

He’s tried to come back many times by dropping new songs but his fans have moved on. His songs don’t get the recognition that he enjoyed in the past. These days, we can say that Bigiano isn’t the once popular singer he used to be.

7. Jodie – Kuchi Kuchi

“Kuchi Kuchi” was a song that people loved. When Jodie dropped this song, she dedicated it to her child and people loved it. Fans expected more amazing tunes from her but she couldn’t keep up. “Kuchi Kuchi” was the only hit song that came from the singer. Not much has been heard from her since then.

5. TY Bello – Greenland

After breaking out from her former gospel group “Kush”, Ty Bello pursued a solo career and dropped singles of her own. “Greenland” became an instant hit but she couldn’t keep up.

Even though Ty Bello is doing very fine today and successful as a photographer, we can say that she doesn’t have much left of her music career anymore. She’s an amazing person and we truly hoped that she had done more music but I guess that ship has sailed.

“Kontrol” was different from the regular songs we’ve been hearing in Nigeria and everyone loved it. W4 started imitating the singing pattern and fashion sense of the later Nigerian music legend “Fela”. Sadly, “Kontrol” remains his only major hit till date. W4 has released many song over the years but none has matched the success of Kontrol.

Many years ago, Jazzman Olofin dropped a song that will forever be a hit, but he couldn’t drop more amazing tunes like “Raise the Roof”. Years have passed and new artistes have emerged, but we will never forget the smash hit single “Raise the Roof” from Jazzman Olofin.

2. Konga – Baby Konga

Konga came into the Nigerian music industry with weird and different style but we loved it. However, the rapper couldn’t improvise and fans soon got tired of his style of music. Fans moved on and his music career went down. Not much has been heard of him lately

1. Zule Zoo- Kerewa

I was still in high school when Zule Zoo dropped “Kerewa”. The song was controversial but it became a smash hit single almost immediately. Parents complained about the sing that it wasn’t a good influence on their kids but it still remained a smash hit. The Zule zoo group will never give us songs anymore because one of them has passed away. May his souls rest in Peace.
