The bail application for a woman accused of s*xually assaulting and explo!ting children during “Bible studies and spiritual guidance” at her Vioolsdrift home has been dismissed by the Springbok Magistrate’s Court.
The 43-year-old woman allegedly ab*sed several children, aged between 8 and 16, under the guise of providing religious instruction. Parents had allowed their children to visit, believing they were receiving Bible lessons, according to Mojalefa Senokoatsane, spokesperson for the Northern Cape National Prosecuting Authority.
Some children reported the alleged ab*se by the woman during “Bible studies” to teachers, prompting the involvement of social workers and the police, ultimately resulting in her arrest. The accused, asserting membership in a prominent church, is scheduled to appear in court on 4 March.
