Former U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a warning of a potential “global catastrophe” in the wake of Iran’s mi!sile attack on Israel. This escalation comes amidst heightened tensions in the Middle East, with Iran firing nearly 200 ballistic missiles at Israeli territory overnight. In response, the Israeli military is preparing for a significant retaliation.
Following the attack, Trump, 78, criticized President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, stating that the situation is “very close to global catastrophe.” He remarked, “I’ve been talking about World War III for a long time, and I don’t want to make predictions because they always come true.”
He continued, “We’re not going to make predictions, but they are very close to global catastrophe. We have a non-existent president and a non-existent vice president who should be in charge. Nobody knows what’s going on; she was at a fundraiser in San Francisco.”
During a press conference in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Trump likened the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran to “two kids fighting in the schoolyard.” He commented, “This has been really bad, but they have to finish that process, however it turns out. Sometimes you just let it go a little and see what happens.”
Trump asserted that last night’s attack should never have happened, emphasizing the U.S. will remain deeply involved in the Middle East. “It’s a horrible, horrible war,” he said, questioning when it would end. “They shot down almost 200 rockets today, but this is not the way anybody should have to live.”
He also claimed that during his presidency, there was no war in the Middle East and that “Iran was in total check.” Trump stated, “They were starved for cash, fully contained, and desperate to make a deal. Kamala flooded them with American cash, and ever since, they have been exporting terror all over.”
He concluded, “Under my administration, we had no war in the Middle East, no war in Europe, harmony in Asia, no inflation, and no Afghanistan catastrophe.” Trump charged that the current leadership is leading the U.S. to the brink of World War III, attributing this to “policies of weakness and appeasement.”
On Tuesday, Iran launched a barrage of rockets at Israel, responding to the assassination of Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah the previous week. The assault lasted about an hour and occurred shortly after the U.S. had warned that an attack was imminent.
