The Joint Security Forces (JSF) raided a kidnappers’ hideout in Anambra State, successfully rescuing a victim.
Authorities have not disclosed the identity of the victim.
State Police spokesman Tochukwu Ikenga reported that the operation was initiated following a confession from a recently arrested suspect.
Ikenga explained that the joint forces included police, military personnel, and vigilante groups.
“In an ongoing operation in Ihiala, a combined team of police, military, and AVG operatives dismantled a criminal den in Umuduru, rescuing the kidnap victim unharmed,” he stated.
“This success came after the arrest of a suspect (name withheld) weeks ago, who admitted to being part of a notorious kidnap gang terrorizing the region, particularly in Ihiala.
The rescued victim has been debriefed and reunited with their family, while the operation continues.
