Rapper Faces Significant Health Risks After Surgically ‘Implanting’ Gold Chains into His Head as Hair

A rapper has made headlines after implanting metal chains into his scalp, prompting experts to caution against copying his extreme modification. Spanish musician Dan Sur first drew attention in 2021 when he showcased his decision to replace his hair with chains to his millions of TikTok followers.

In a video, he explained the unusual procedure, stating, “I have a hook implanted in my head, and that hook has hooks, all anchored into my skull beneath my skin. This is my hair. Golden hair. The first rapper to have gold hair implanted in human history.”

When skeptics suggested that his chain hair was fake, he demonstrated its authenticity by showing that the chains did not float in a glass of water.

While he appears pleased with his new look, medical professionals have issued strong warnings to anyone thinking about following in his footsteps. Though chain hair may seem trendy, it carries serious health risks. Dr. Frank Agullo, a plastic surgeon, advised against such implants, citing significant dangers.

According to Dr. Agullo, implants like these can create an easy entry point for bacteria, potentially reaching the bone covering the brain. He also raised concerns about the weight of the chains, noting that any accidental tugging could result in dislodgment or even skull fractures.

Reports indicate that the rapper has permanent hooks on his head, even without the chains. Dermatologist Dr. Mona Gohara cautioned that he could experience permanent hair loss due to damage to hair follicles, scalp inflammation, and scarring.

Despite the potential dangers, the rapper has reportedly managed well with his chain implants, having kept them for three years without any reported issues. However, Dr. Agullo strongly advises against such procedures, emphasizing their risks and possible complications. He suggests safer, reversible options, such as wearing a wig adorned with gold chains instead of anchoring them directly to the skull.

Dr. Gohara also urges caution, proposing that weaving gold strands into existing hair is a much safer alternative. Since his transformation, the rapper has been seen sporting chains in various colors, including gold, silver, and multi-colored styles to match his outfits. Despite numerous warnings, he shows no signs of abandoning his unique and unconventional style.
