A new CNN Poll of Polls, comprising surveys conducted since the Democratic National Convention, shows a close contest between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump, with no decisive frontrunner. Harris garners 49% support, while Trump is at 47% in polls from August 23 to September 6. This average is consistent with previous polling, which had Harris at 50% and Trump at 48%.
The Poll of Polls aggregates the four most recent national surveys of registered or likely voters for the 2024 presidential race. A New York Times/Siena College poll from September 3 to 6 also reflects a tight race, with Trump at 48% and Harris at 47%.
The survey reveals a significant gender divide: women favor Harris by 11 points (53% to 42%), while men support Trump by 17 points (56% to 39%). Harris leads among voters under 30 by 8 points (51% to 43%), while Trump holds a lead with those 65 and older.
Independent voters slightly lean toward Harris, 48% to 44%, while non-voters in 2020 favor Trump, 49% to 40%. Harris also has strong backing from Black and Latino voters.
In November, Americans will cast their votes for either Democratic candidate Kamala Harris or Republican candidate Donald Trump.
