The Lagos State Government has demolished structures obstructing drainage systems and canals along the System 1 Drainage Channel in Arowojobe Estate.
Tokunboh Wahab, Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, shared videos of the demolition on X, saying:
“Teams from the Drainage Enforcement and Compliance Department of the Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, along with security personnel, carried out enforcement operations to remove buildings blocking drainages and canals along the System 1 Drainage Channel in Arowojobe Estate. This is part of broader efforts to address the ongoing flooding problems in the area.”
