Jennifer Williams, star of Basketball Wives, is facing a major disruption to her wedding plans after her fiancé, Christian Gold, was sentenced to jail just a week before their scheduled wedding.
Christian was taken into custody on Friday at a DeKalb County courthouse in Georgia for violating his probation, receiving a 15-day sentence. This likely came as a shock to Jennifer, who was present in court to support him.
Fortunately, the judge allowed Christian to serve just 2 days in jail initially, ensuring his release in time for their wedding in Paris on September 14. Despite the ordeal, Jennifer did not comment outside the courthouse.
While the Paris wedding is still moving forward, their post-wedding plans have been affected. Christian will need to return to DeKalb County after the ceremony to serve the remaining 13 days of his sentence, leaving no time for a honeymoon.
Christian’s legal troubles arose from a probation violation related to a false imprisonment charge, for which he served 30 months before his release in 2018. The violation occurred after he traveled to Italy and Switzerland with Jennifer in July without notifying his probation officer, a trip revealed by their social media posts.
Additionally, Christian had failed to pay $12,500 in restitution to his victim but settled the amount during the court proceedings.
While Christian remains in jail for now, wedding preparations continue, despite the unexpected challenges.
