Footballer Suspended After Admitting to B!ting Opponent on the Neck

Preston forward Milutin Osmajic has been handed an eight-match ban for biting Blackburn defender Owen Beck.

The Montenegro international left visible bite marks on Beck’s shoulder during last month’s 0-0 draw at Deepdale. However, he avoided a red card at the time as referee Matt Donohue did not see the incident unfold.

Donohue did send off Beck, who had kicked Duane Holmes following the incident.

As a result of his v!olent conduct, Beck received a three-match ban and has already missed Blackburn’s matches against QPR and Coventry.

On Friday, October 4, the Football Association found Milutin Osmajic guilty of v!olent conduct, resulting in a longer ban than Owen Beck’s due to the severity of the offense.

In an official statement, the FA announced: “Preston North End’s Milutin Osmajic has been handed an eight-match suspension and fined £15,000 for misconduct during the EFL Championship match against Blackburn Rovers on Sunday, September 22.”

The statement added, “The forward admitted to v!olent conduct after biting an opponent in the 87th minute. An independent Regulatory Commission imposed these sanctions following a hearing, with detailed written reasons to be released shortly.”

Preston acknowledged the FA’s ruling and confirmed they would not comment further until the written reasons are made public.

Beck, who was sent off for kicking Duane Holmes following Yuki Ohashi’s foul on Osmajic, received a three-match ban.
