Prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain Joe Igbokwe has voiced his concern over the soaring price of rice in Nigeria.
In a social media post on Tuesday, Igbokwe revealed that a bag of rice now costs over ₦100,000, despite the presence of numerous rice mills in the country. His statement has generated significant reactions online, underscoring the economic pressure faced by everyday Nigerians due to escalating food prices.
Igbokwe’s Facebook post read, “With all the rice mills we have in Nigeria, my wife just informed me that a bag of rice is now over ₦100,000. Without sounding immodest, I must say that the men and women who will rescue this country from its self-inflicted pains and tears have yet to be born.”
