On October 8, 2009, a family of three vanished, and the circumstances surrounding their disappearance remain an enigma. Bobby Jamison, 44, his wife Sherilynn, 40, and their six-year-old daughter Madyson, from Oklahoma, went missing on that day. Their truck was found a few days later, about an hour away from their home, but there was no sign of the family.
Inside the truck, authorities discovered their dog, Maisie, who was malnourished but waiting for her owners in the backseat.
The Jamisons had seemingly left behind all their personal items, including wallets, ID cards, cell phones, a GPS device, and around $32,000 in cash, all abandoned in the vehicle.
The source and purpose of the money remain unclear, and investigators were unsure whether the family had left the truck willingly or under duress.
Despite the money being left in the truck, no one ever returned to retrieve it. Extensive searches were conducted, but the Jamisons’ whereabouts remained unknown after they left their vehicle.
Why they took their daughter, brought a large sum of money, and left everything behind—along with their dog—remains unanswered.
In November 2013, hunters discovered human remains less than three miles from where the truck had been found, and by July 2014, they were confirmed to be the Jamison family.
This sparked a renewed investigation, during which police uncovered home security footage of the family packing their truck. Sherilynn was seen placing a brown briefcase in the vehicle, which, along with a handgun she owned, was never recovered.
Due to the advanced decomposition of their bodies, the cause of their deaths could not be determined.
Before their disappearance, Bobby had reportedly told his pastor that he believed their house was haunted and had seen ghosts on the roof. Sherilynn had also bought a Satanic Bible, which Bobby mentioned, leading to speculation that witchcraft could have played a role in their strange disappearance.
While there are many theories, the case remains unsolved, leaving the family’s fate and the events leading to their deaths a mystery that may never be fully understood.
