PSG Responds to Kylian Mbappe’s Accusation of Fabricating ‘Fake’ R*pe Allegations Amid Current Payment Conflict

French powerhouse PSG has rebuffed accusations from Kylian Mbappe after the player seemingly suggested that his former club played a role in spreading ‘baseless’ and ‘fake’ r@pe allegations.

Local media recently reported that Mbappe faced accusations of r@pe and s3xual harassment at a Swedish hotel where he stayed with friends last week.

In response, Mbappe took to X on Monday afternoon, stating: ‘FAKE NEWS! It’s becoming so predictable, just before the hearing as if by chance,’ adding a winking face emoji. This post was interpreted as a jab at PSG amidst his ongoing payment conflict with the Ligue 1 club.

The French star is seeking nearly £50 million in unpaid wages and bonuses following his summer move from PSG to Real Madrid. A meeting between Mbappe, PSG, and the appeals committee is scheduled for Tuesday.

In reaction to Mbappe’s comment, PSG criticized his remarks. A source close to PSG remarked, as quoted by RMC Sport: ‘It’s a shame. We will maintain our class and dignity. PSG is blamed for everything concerning him. He didn’t score goals (except penalties) for Madrid? It’s PSG’s fault. He missed French national team matches despite claiming an injury? It’s PSG. Now PSG allegedly creates stories in Sweden. We will ignore it and uphold our class.’

Mbappe had traveled to Sweden last week after being left out of France’s national team for the current international break due to a recent injury concern.

France manager Didier Deschamps clarified that Mbappe was excluded as a precaution to prevent additional fitness problems.

Mbappe’s representatives also issued a statement addressing the accusations against him in Sweden, pledging to take legal actions to clear his name.

In a statement to AFP, they stated: ‘Today, a new defamatory rumor sparks online, originating from the Swedish media Aftonbladet. These accusations are completely false and irresponsible. Their spread is unacceptable. To end this systematic attack on (Kylian Mbappe’s) image, all necessary legal actions will be taken to restore the truth and pursue any individuals or media involved in the moral harassment and defamatory treatment Kylian Mbappe faces repeatedly.’

The statement did not directly reference PSG’s involvement in the allegations, but Mbappe’s X post risks further straining his relationship with his former club.

Mbappe left PSG as a free agent when his contract ended last season, after seven years at the club, to fulfill his dream of joining Madrid.

He has since claimed he is owed around £50 million in wages and bonuses, and the LFP, the governing body of French professional football, recently ordered PSG to pay that sum, ruling on the dispute last month.
