This world is full of unexplored wonders, but unfortunately, there are certain mysterious places that are prohibited for visitation.

Despite our desire to explore every nook and corner of the world, we are unable to do so due to this restriction. Here are a few examples.

Club 33 at Disney is a highly exclusive and costly society, which operates secretly within two Disney parks. Originally established in May 1967 for Disney executives, it is now accessible only to the world’s most elite individuals, including US members, actors, and other influential figures in the industry. To even have a chance at being considered for membership, one must be prepared to work exceptionally hard and strive for a place on the elite list.

Dubbed as the “prehistoric Sistine Chapel,” the Lascaux Cave is a remarkable testament to history, showcasing paintings created by Paleolithic people nearly 17,000 years ago.

Discovered by a group of friends on September 12, 1940, the site was opened to visitors in 1948. Unfortunately, by 1955, the heat, carbon dioxide, and other pollutants produced by tourists began to take their toll, causing visible damage to the paintings. In order to preserve the art, the site was closed to the public in 1963, and since then, ordinary individuals are prohibited from visiting this wondrous cave.

07) PINE GAP, AUSTRALIA

The Pine Gap facility located in Central Australia, is jointly operated by the Australian government and the Central Intelligence Agency, making it one of the most critical intelligence facilities outside the United States. Known officially as the Joint Defence Facility Pine Gap, it serves as an early warning system for ballistic missile launches, and is operated in collaboration by both Australia and the United States.

Another location that is off-limits to visitors is Fort Knox, a United States Army post situated on 109,000 acres of land in Northern Kentucky. The US government stores a vast amount of gold in a highly secure Gold Vault within Fort Knox, which boasts a 22-ton blast-proof door, granite walls, and a bombproof roof.

The post is guarded by a force of 30,000 soldiers and a flotilla of attack helicopters, making it one of the most heavily secured locations in the world. One can only imagine the staggering amount of gold stored within its walls.

2) SNAKE ISLAND, BRAZIL

Ilha de Queimada Grande (snake island), located 20 miles (32 km) off the coast of Sao Paolo, Brazil, is home to the golden lancehead viper – one of the world’s deadliest snakes with venom that can cause flesh to melt.

A trip to this “snake island” would put you in the midst of approximately 4,000 of these venomous creatures. Due to the extreme danger, the Brazilian government has officially prohibited visitors from accessing the island.

The Bohemian Club, founded in 1872 by a group of reporters seeking to create a community for art enthusiasts, is a bit unsettling.
